Would you love to help children grow their reading or math skills and succeed in school? If your answer is yes, you can be trained to serve as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps or Minnesota Math Corps at Partnership Academy. Whether you want to explore a career in education, re-enter the workforce, or give back to your community, you can be a child’s hero as a tutor. Last year, Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps provided direct services to more than 35,000 children in more than 900 sites across the state.
As a Literacy Tutor, you’ll use research-proven strategies to help students become proficient, confident readers. As a Math Tutor, you’ll help struggling 4th-8th grade students gain the core math skills they need to prepare for high school graduation and college enrollment. There are openings for part-time and full-time tutors, and tutors serve most of their hours during the school day.
Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, career changers, stay-at-home parents, and retirees. With extensive training, support from onsite coaches, and evidence-based strategies, tutors are well-equipped to change lives. Tutors may earn a living allowance, education award, and federal student loan forbearance, and will have the chance to make a real difference in the life of a child.
