Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  1.       Is Partnership Academy a public or private school?
Partnership Academy is a public charter school. Charter schools operating in the state of Minnesota are tuition-free public schools that operate independently of traditional school districts. They are governed by boards comprised of parents, licensed teachers, and community members. All students are welcomed by charter schools, regardless of need. Our authorizer is Audubon Center of the North Woods (http://audubon-center.org/).
  1.       What grades do you serve?
Partnership Academy enrolls students in preschool through 7th grade.  We will be expanding to offer 8th grade for the 2020-2021 school year.  For more information about the Early Wonders Preschool Program, please click here.
  1.        How long is your school day?
Our school day begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM.
  1.        What is your average class size?
Most of our classes have from 20 to 28 students.  We work hard to keep the staff:student ratio as low as possible.  Most rooms will have two educators in the room throughout the day.  We offer incredibly personalized classes to challenge and support all students.
  1.        Do you have a uniform policy?
For primary grade K-4, we require that all students wear navy blue pants, shorts or skirts with a PA red polo shirt.  Our middle school students can wear black or khaki colored pants with a maroon polo and a grey crew sweater. PA polo shirts are available for purchase from the school. On Fridays, students and staff are encouraged to wear a casual PA yellow t-shirt, college, or cultural attire.  Cultural attire may include sports jerseys, heritage clothing, or shirts that recognize the student's culture.  Shirts with characters or sayings are typically not considered culture attire.  Jeans are appropriate for Fridays. The school will call parents of children not following the uniform policy and ask that proper attire be delivered to the school.
  1.       What meals do you serve?
Partnership Academy provides students with free breakfast, lunch, and a fresh fruit or vegetable snack daily. Our school participates in several of the United States' Department of Agriculture's meal programs, including the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and the Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program. As part of the enrollment process, each student's parents or guardians complete a food program application that determines their eligibility for the free and reduced price meal plans.
  1.       Does PA have an after school program?
There is not currently an after school program.  PA does have a soccer team that plays in the fall and spring after school.
  1.       What specialist classes do you offer?
Partnership Academy offers four specialist classes: Music, Physical Education, Spanish, and Art. Students rotate through 4 specials classes and have either a 80 minute  or 60 minute special daily.
